Scott-Moncrieff strengthens its public sector team by appointing a new partner.
Following continued growth in its public sector work, Scott-Moncrieff, one of Scotland’s top professional independent financial services firms, has appointed Chris Brown as a partner.
Based in Edinburgh, and working with clients across the Edinburgh and Glasgow offices, the 37 year-old specialises in advising public sector clients on technical accounting, internal control, corporate governance, risk management and business improvement. He is a member of the Technical Accounting Groups for both the NHS and Further Education sectors.
Bringing the total number of partners to 21, of which four work predominantly with the public sector, the promotion reflects the firm’s commitment to retaining its position as one of Scotland’s leading audit providers to the public sector. Public sector work now accounts for approximately 20% of Scott-Moncrieff’s annual turnover.
Alan Donaldson, Managing Partner, commented,
“We are delighted to welcome Chris to the partnership. His appointment is a clear indication of our commitment to the continuing growth of the public sector team at Scott-Moncrieff, and his specialist knowledge in this field is highly valued. He has been with the firm since 1995 and he will continue to work across our range of publicly funded clients.”
These clients include a wide range of organisations, such as the Scottish Arts Council, sportscotland, Fife and Forth Valley Health Boards, Fife and Orkney Councils and Heriot-Watt University. The firm has consistently been rated as one of the top providers of public sector external audit services by Audit Scotland over the last 10 years and achieved the largest increase in work of any existing audit provider in the most recent tendering round.
