Nick Bennett, Managing PartnerNick is our Managing Partner and is responsible for the management and co-ordination of the firm's services, resources and driving the firm forward in key sectors. Nick is an expert in public sector auditing and financial reporting. He also heads up our public sector team responsible for the achievement of the firm's high quality services to Audit Scotland. Nick is a former chairman of CIPFA/LASAAC responsible for the preparation of UK guidance on local authority financial reporting. He is also a non-executive director of Edinburgh Leisure. Graham Scrimgeour, Partner, Audit & AssuranceGraham trained with Scott-Moncrieff and has 15 years experience in external and internal audit, punctuated by secondments on the other side of the fence. He joined the partnership in 2007. He specialises in the audit of commercial and financial services clients and advising on technical accounting, internal control, corporate governance and risk management. Scott Craig, Partner, VATScott is our specialist VAT partner and is responsible for all of the VAT services provided by the firm. He is regularly engaged by other professional advisors to provide stand-alone VAT consultancy advice. Scott is a member of the Institute of Indirect tax and the VAT Practitioners Group. In his free time Scott enjoys playing golf and embarking on "seasonal" fitness drives. Paul Thompson, Partner, Business Advisory Group
Paul returned to Scott-Moncrieff in 2008 after spending eight years in the construction industry. He trained with the firm, qualifying as a CA in 1991. Having worked in industry Paul brings an additional perspective to our Business Advisory Group. He has a wealth of practical experience of what it is like 'at the coalface' which has proven to be a great benefit to our clients, particularly those running SMEs and for public sector organisations entering into construction related contracts with private sector companies. Paul has 3 children and enjoys playing golf, and still believes he can make it as a professional footballer(!)
